“Panchakarma is a cleansing and rejuvenating program for the body, mind, and consciousness. It is known for its beneficial effects on overall health, wellness and self-healing.” Dr. Vasant Lad
Panchakarma means “5 actions or therapies” and is used to help us unlock ama (toxin buildup) in our body. Using simple therapies to help restore our natural state of health and wellness will help bring our body back to a more balanced state and allow us to begin the process of positive changes in our life.
Panchakarma is a unique, holistic, and natural system that allows the deep tissues to release ama, open the subtle energy channels and bring the correct ‘intelligence’ back to the body, mind, and spirit.
Panchakarma is offered during the spring and fall seasons.

Panchakarma is a 5 to 21 day process which begins with a consultation to determine what our areas of focus will be, such as weight, sugar addictions, dry scaly skin, headaches, anxiety, etc.
We will formulate a Ghee mixture to help scrape or cleanse the channels and release the toxins that are buried deep in the tissues.
Daily body oil massages, known as Abyhangas, are incorporated in your therapy. Foods become softer and easier to digest. Your main diet will consist of Kitchari. This is a cooked rice and mung bean dish.
Ghee amounts digested each day will be increased and as these will be the only oils your body receives all day during this phase of therapy, the body will begin to burn the fat while releasing toxins into the colon. A purgative will be administered, followed by quiet and a liquid-only diet for one day. By this time your Ghee levels will decrease the digestive fire and you should feel less hungry.
Now you begin treatments that alert all the senses while purging your colon of unwanted ama build up.
purgation therapy (intake
of castor oil) aids a quick
release of ama buildup from the digestive system.
Nasya nose cleaning (medicated oil put in the nose) aids cleansing while eliminating kapha toxins from the head and neck region while working to reduce or eliminate anxiety, bloody noses, headaches, sciatica, constipation, digestive disorders and more.
During a more unique treatment, Shirodhara /Abyhanga, the client lies down on a massage table while warm sesame oil seeped in specially mixed herbs is gently massaged into the body and poured over the 3rd eye and 6th chakra. This blissful therapy purifies the mind, alleviates anxiety, reduces headaches and creates a general sense of peace throughout the entire body while promoting more restful sleep.
Swedana is a full body steam therapy. Special herbs are used to help dilate the channel systems of the body and move the stored ama through the digestive system.
Bastis are herbalized oil enemas which enter deep into the tissues and eliminate fat. These soluble toxins cannot be dislodged with standard enemas.
These therapies work in combination to create a personal and unique therapy experience for each individual while working to re-set your body’s clock and release ama from deep tissue centers.
After 3 to 5 days of treatments with us, you will progress to the Rasayana stage which is the rejuvenation period of therapy.
During Rejuvenation therapy, a spice mixture and suggested foods are (re) introduced to the body slowly to promote improved health, immunity levels, vigor, vitality, and overall longevity of life.
The benefits of Rejuvenation therapy are critical to overall health and wellness, stress related issues and greater resistance to disease. Rejuvenation therapy lasts 5 to 10 days and is considered the most critical phase of Panchakarma.
