ALYSSA VASQUEZ started practicing yoga in the spring of 2015. Her mom had just passed from an intense 5 year long battle with cancer and Alyssa as one of her mother's only 2 caregivers sought out something to help her with her grief and the void she felt. Slowly a practice began. She is an avid reader so she started reading yoga and spirituality books and began to see how yoga can benefit all people at any time in their life. And after only practicing for weeks, decided to take the plunge and sign up for a teacher training program with Corepower Yoga. She completed their 200 HR Power Vinyasa program in the summer of 2015 and began teaching by November of that same year. Yoga has helped Alyssa deal with her grief and anxiety but it has also made her a stronger person on the inside. She wants everyone to know that no matter where you are in your life or in your body, you can start practicing yoga! The benefits are felt more in your soul and from there you can share that in your relationships, job, family-- EVERYWHERE! She is trained in Power Vinyasa but will meet you on your mat where you are and teaches a slower, intense class that will work you out and also begin to make you aware of your body. Alyssa is also trained in Restorative and Yin Yoga and will begin to complete her 500 HR Certification soon.
